Statement on Enterprising States report
"This report demonstrates that our focus on rebuilding New York State from the bottom up and creating a new environment for businesses to succeed is truly working. The chamber rightly recognizes that critical tax reforms, like the property tax cap, as well as Tier VI and the Regional Councils, were essential to improve the business climate and quality of life in this state.
For many years, New York State has come in near the bottom in such rankings, and government leaders have not stepped up to the plate to address the lousy business climate and exodus of our people. But under Governor Cuomo's leadership it is a new day, and this report shows that New York is once again a leading state for businesses to grow and thrive.
We have more work to do and we look forward to making changes in 2013 that will allow New York to move into the top 5 in the next report."
