Unshackle Upstate, through its political action committee UPAC, and the Empire State Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, formally endorsed Fred Akshar for State Senate in the 52nd District.
Greg Biryla, executive director of Unshackle Upstate, hailed Akshar as a strong candidate who will stand up for hardworking taxpayers across the Southern Tier.
“Struggling from generations of job and population loss, the Southern Tier needs a strong voice that will work hard to promote growth, create economic opportunity and be a champion for taxpayers in Albany – we believe that Fred Akshar is that voice,” said Biryla. “Fred’s dedication to public service and perspective on key issues make him the right candidate for the 52nddistrict. We’re proud to endorse Fred Akshar for State Senate and encourage voters to support him on November 3.”
The Empire State Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), a statewide trade association serving 400 construction and industry-related firms, also declared its support for Akshar’s candidacy.
“There is undeniable proof that the Southern Tier has been hit hard by big government, over-burdensome policies and prohibitive taxes that hinder job growth. The small businesses that have survived need relief from Albany, and changes need to be made to make New York State more business friendly,” said Brian Sampson, President of Associated Builders and Contractors, Empire State Chapter. “We are proud to give our endorsement to Fred Akshar. He will bring a unique perspective as an outsider eager to take on the bureaucratic monster that is Albany. We need a candidate in office that will help grow the economy and bring jobs back to the Southern Tier not one that will throw more and more obstacles in front of business. There is no question that he passes the test as an advocate for free enterprise, fair competition and government transparency. There is a future for Binghamton and the Southern Tier. But to reach it we need Fred Akshar in office to fight against the Albany machine.”
“I’m honored to have the endorsement of Unshackle Upstate and the Empire State Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors,” said state senate candidate Fred Akshar. “Every day, I’m continuing to meet with local small business owners and employees across the 52nd District to listen to their concerns so I can properly represent them in Albany. I plan to be a strong, energetic voice for creating opportunities for businesses and their employees to succeed both in our community and our state.”
